The Circular
Standard™
Our difference starts with a higher standard. We created the Circular Standard™ to bring clarity to an industry crowded with confusing sustainability claims. By looking beyond marketing and evaluating real impact, we ensure every product we feature meets rigorous expectations for sustainability and true circularity—so you can shop with confidence. We hold brands accountable, inspire better practices, and help lead the way toward a more regenerative future.

Why
Circularity
Matters
Circularity isn’t just another sustainability claim — it’s a higher standard. It replaces vague promises with real systems and goes beyond doing “less harm.” Circularity demands approaches that keep materials in motion, design waste out, and restore both natural and human ecosystems.
True circularity begins upstream — with the fibers we choose, the chemicals we use, and the way products are designed and made. Repair and recycling matter. But they can't compensate for products that were never designed to be circular in the first place. By addressing circularity from the very start, every product has the potential to re-enter a material cycle and create lasting positive impact.
Because the choices we make today become the world we live in tomorrow.
Our Circular Product Pillars
At Circular People, we believe a circular future isn't just an idea— it's essential for healing our planet. Choosing circularity means making a conscious, daily effort to mend our world through your actions. Join the movement by making the conscious, daily decision to embrace circularity you mend our world with every action.

Traceability in action
Digital Product Passports
Every product we feature has a story you can trace from raw material to finished good. This level of transparency holds brands accountable, protects workers, animals, and the planet, and safeguards against misleading sustainability claims. Traceability is evolving quickly: in the EU, legislation is emerging that requires digital product passports for certain product categories, creating a standardized way for consumers to verify sourcing and sustainability. Our Circular Standard™ aligns with these regulations, and we’re working with partners to implement full traceability across supply chains.
Materials and finishes are where most greenwashing happens.
That’s why we evaluate every material beyond surface-level claims—looking at origin, regenerative sourcing, processing, dyeing, finishing, chemical impact, and energy and water use. This helps you make informed choices that protect your health and the planet.
For those who want to dig deeper, our Materials Page explains fiber impacts, and our downloadable Restricted Substances List shows what we don’t allow.
Interconnected Impact
People, Animals, Ecosystems
Sustainability cannot exist in isolation. We evaluate human rights, labor standards, and animal welfare across supply chains, ensuring production systems restore ecosystems and support communities rather than deplete them. Every brand must meet our social and environmental compliance standards, verified through audits, certifications, and transparent sourcing. By taking an interconnected approach, we ensure products are not only environmentally responsible but also socially and ethically sound.
Waste Reduction
Designing for longevity, reuse and regenerative future.
Circularity starts with intention. We move beyond the “take-make-waste” model by evaluating the entire product lifecycle. We prioritize small-batch production, high-quality craftsmanship, longevity, repairability, and responsible end-of-life practices. Our evaluations consider durability, repairability, resale potential, and CO₂ impact, including energy-efficient manufacturing, sustainable transportation, and other strategies that support a regenerative future.
By curating products with intentional design and sustainable practices, we empower consumers to extend the life of their wardrobe, reduce waste, and close the loop on fashion’s environmental footprint.
CIRCULAR PEOPLE JOURNAL
Traceable by Design
Every product is documented from raw material to finished good, so you know exactly who made it and how.
Materials MAtter
We evaluate sourcing, processing, dyes, and chemicals — because what something is made of shapes its true impact.
Interconnected Impact
We prioritize products made in systems that support fair labor, animal welfare, and healthy ecosystems.
End-of-Life Accountability
We feature products built to last, repair, reuse, and responsibly return to the earth — not the landfill.
